PTK Chapters Shine

Phi Theta Kappa Chapters Win Awards During International Competition


The Chapters of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Jefferson State earned numerous
awards on April 6 during the International Phi Theta Kappa Convention in San Jose, California.

During the convention, the Pi Pi Chapter was named a College Project winner. They received one of only 25 awards presented out of the 1,300 plus chapters in the society. Also, Tyler Rockwell was named to the All-Alabama Academic Team.


The Beta Lambda Delta Chapter was also honored as a College Project award winner. The Beta Lambda Delta chapter received the following awards:

Distinguished Member - Emily Vonbartheld
Distinguished Officer - Jo McGinnis
Distinguished Advisor - Libby Holmes
Distinguished Officer Team
Honors in Action Award
Honors in Action Theme Award
Beta Alpha Continuing Excellence Chapter


In addition, Deanna Pack was named to the All-Alabama Academic Team. She was also named a Coca-Cola Gold Scholar and received the prestigious Guistwhite Scholarship, an award given to only 20 students out of over 1,800 applicants.

Jeff Patterson was elected to lead the Alabama Region as state president for 2013-2014.
